What are you craving?
-still root beer and vegan smores, hasn’t changed!
Total weight gain?
-Almost 10 pounds, definitely getting back on track with my weight gain
Movement?
-None yet, but the doctor said it should happen between 17 and 20 weeks, so I’m anxiously waiting.
Baby Bump?
-haha you tell me
Nesting?
-Oh yes, that hasn’t let up at all.
Gender?
-A LITTLE BOYYYY! Mister Oliver Penn :)
Sleeping well?
-Oh yes, my mama surprised me with a pregnancy pillow in the mail for Christmas…best thing ever invented.
Buy anything for the baby this week?
-Not yet, but I’ve been looking!
What are you looking forward to?
-May 22nd, 2012 :)
What are you enjoying the most/least about being pregnant this week?
-I’m enjoying knowing that I’ll get to feel my little boy move any day now…and I’m still not enjoying the stupidly frequent urination, UGH.

I got this cute little survey from a fellow mommy to be and her blog O Baby, I thought it would be a fun thing to do every week, so here’s my first one!
How Far along?
-Seventeen weeks!
Size of the baby?
-5.1 inches, 5.9 oz.
 Any new symptoms?
-Just feeling extra bloated all the time
What are you craving?
-Rootbeer and vegan smores, yummmm
Total weight gain?
-Only about three pounds so far, but that’s pretty good considering I lost five in my first trimester from throwing up.
Movement?
 -None yet unfortunately!
Baby Bump?
-It’s definitely becoming more visible and I couldn’t be more excited for it!
Nesting?
-Like you wouldn’t believe. I’m in the most ridiculous nesting/organizing/cleaning/preparing phase EVER. I definitely like it though, I hope it lasts!
Gender?
-We don’t know yet, but our next appointment is on Wednesday to hopefully find out!!!!!!
Sleeping well?
-For the most part…besides getting up to pee every 15 minutes, ugh.
Buy anything for the baby this week?
-We aren’t buying anything until we know the gender :)
What are you looking forward to?
-FINDING OUT IF IT’S A BOY OR A GIRL IN 2 DAYS!
What are you enjoying the most/least about being pregnant this week?
-I’m enjoying the fact that my belly is starting to grow…and I’m not so into the super frequent peeing thing.

Homemade Apple Cinnamon Granola

I was browsing my favorite blogs today and found this lovely little recipe that I wanted to share. I think I might be making a few jars for Christmas gifts for co-workers and such. It’s cheap, easy, and cute! Click here to visit the wonderful blog I found it on!

“2 ½ cups old-fashioned rolled oats
½ cup unsweetened applesauce
1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
pinch of ground ginger
½ cup honey
⅜ cup brown rice syrup (available in the natural section of the grocery store or at a natural foods store)
½ cup almonds
½ cup walnuts
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon melted coconut oil or other oil you have on hand
first, put on your favorite holiday album. okay, now… heat the oven to 300°F. mix everything together and spread evenly on a parchment lined baking sheet (don’t use waxed paper, it will stick). bake for 40-60 minutes, stirring everything around halfway through baking. your kitchen will smell just lovely at this point. once it is golden and finished, take it out of the oven and let it cool on the baking sheet. transfer it into a quart sized glass jar or other container and add a sweet little gift-tag.”

sixteen weeks

I’m finally four months pregnant with our little Baby E (if it’s a girl) or Baby O (if it’s a boy). I’ll share full names when we find out for sure what the sex is. I’m pleased to announce I am finally getting a “baby belly” and I’m entirely too excited. Jason and I have an appointment next Wednesday for an ultrasound to hopefully determine the gender and I’m so SO anxious. We’re also waiting to hear back about approval to move into a gorgeous two bedroom townhouse. If we are approved, we’ll be moving in next Thursday…it’s going to be a busy week! I’m so excited for all the changes and the future, I honestly can’t believe how blessed I am.

Little Bean,
This photo is of your mama when she was just a little girl..and her daddy, your grandpa. And today is a very special day, your grandpa’s birthday. He would have been 54 years old this year. I wish so badly that he could be here to meet you when you’re born, I know he’d love you unconditionally just like he did me. He was such an important influence in my life, and I just know that your father will be the same in yours. Mommy and daddy can’t wait to meet you little baby!

Rest in peace Dad, 1954-2008 <3

hi little one

I cannot believe how much you’ve grown (and made mommy grow) in just two short weeks!

Mommy & Daddy can’t wait to meet you <3

Just received this adorable little journal from Amazon yesterday. I plan on keeping a journal for baby that he or she can read when they get older. My mother did it for me and it truly was a treasure to get to read her thoughts, feelings, and ambitions for me when I was still only in her womb. I hope my child appreciates this as much as I did!

Hi sweet baby! I’m choosing to start this blog off with your first ultrasound, you were only 8 weeks. Mama is now 10 weeks pregnant with you, and May seems incredibly far away. We can’t wait to meet you baby!
